- Size - probably the most important thing is getting the sizing right. Carefully measure your dog in a sleeping position and compare to the size of the actually pet bed you are about to purchase - will they fit comfortably and be able to stretch out?
- Washable - we all know dogs and cats shed hair, may have accidents or simply get a bit messy from their day-to-day life. An important feature of any dog bed is making sure the covers are removable and washable to ensure you can keep up with the hygiene of your pets sleeping area.
- Anti-slip - there is nothing worse than a sliding bed when trying to sleep. Especially if you have tiles or floorboards, you may wish to go for an anti-slip pet bed.
- Easy to transport - think of your lifestyle. Do you travel often with your furry friend? And you want him/her to be able to bring their safe sleeping area, then consider the size and overall design of the dog bed to ensure it is easy to bring along in the car.
- Firmness - try to think of your pets' individual needs. If they are young and fit you may be able to choose a softer base, but if they are a senior dog with aging joints, they may require a bit more support and a firmer base to achieve that.
